What Is Life Coaching? (And How It’s Different from Therapy)
Why Coaching Is the Wake-Up Call So Many of Us Didn’t Know We Needed
There’s a quiet ache so many people carry—this sense that something isn’t quite right, but they can’t name what. They’re not falling apart. Life looks fine. But under the surface, there’s stuckness. Fog. The sense that they’re not fully living in alignment with who they are or what they want.
That’s where life coaching comes in.
What Life Coaching Is (and Isn’t)
At its core, life coaching is a partnership that helps you move from where you are now to where you want to be—with clarity, intention, and aligned action.
I’m not here to fix you. You’re not broken.
I’m not here to diagnose or dig into your past trauma.
I’m here to hold space, ask powerful questions, and help you see the patterns, stories, and beliefs that might be standing in your way—so you can start writing a new one.
According to the International Coaching Federation (ICF), coaching is:
“Partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
That means our work isn’t about giving advice or solving your problems for you. It’s about helping you reconnect with your own power, truth, and inner knowing—so you can lead yourself forward, confidently and intentionally.
Coaching vs. Therapy: What’s the Difference?
Both coaching and therapy are powerful forms of support, but they serve different purposes.
Here’s how I like to think of it:
You can absolutely do both. In fact, they can complement each other beautifully. But coaching is not a replacement for therapy—and I will always refer out when deeper healing work is needed.
Why Coaching Is Transformational
Because it’s not just surface-level work.
It’s not about performance or productivity.
It’s not about “fixing your mindset” or forcing positivity.
It’s about reconnection.
With your voice.
With your truth.
With the version of you who’s been buried under other people’s expectations for too long.
In our work together, I don’t come in with a plan to fix you. I come in with curiosity.
I listen deeply.
I hold space for the messy middle.
And I ask the questions no one else is asking.
Questions that wake you up.
Questions that help you see differently.
Questions that shift something on a soul level.
That’s why it works. That’s why it matters.
Coaching Isn’t Magic—But It Feels Like It
There’s no one-size-fits-all formula. But when you’re fully met—seen, heard, held without judgment—something opens. You start to trust yourself again. You stop waiting for permission. You begin taking small, brave steps. And that’s when your life begins to shift.
It’s not because someone told you what to do.
It’s because you remembered who you are.
Could Coaching Be the Answer?
If you're feeling like you're in between versions of yourself...
If you’re craving more clarity, confidence, or direction...
If you’re tired of feeling stuck, small, or unseen…
Coaching might be exactly what you didn’t know you needed.
